# Parent Corridor Privacy Policy
Draft v1. Effective date: pending review. Version: privacy-v1-20260707-draft.
Parent Corridor is a private, invite-only network where verified families help
each other with trips and favors between home and a college campus. This policy
explains what we collect, why, who can see it, how long we keep it, and the
choices you have. It covers the current pilot. If you are a California resident,
it also describes your rights under the CCPA and CPRA.
## 1. What we collect
From the parent who sets up the family:
- Name, email address, and phone number.
- Date of birth, used to confirm you are an adult (18 or older).
- Your home area (city and ZIP) and, when you post or request a trip, the origin
and destination you enter. Addresses may be resolved to approximate
coordinates so trips can be matched by route.
About the student:
- The student's university email address. We use it once, to confirm that your
family belongs to your corridor's school. We do not use it to market to the
student or to contact them about anything else.
From your activity in the community:
- Your family and circle membership, any kins you join, the dates you park, the
trips you post, request, accept, and complete, and the karma you give and
receive. Karma is a non-monetary signal of favors exchanged. It is never
money, never for sale, and never convertible to money.
- Reviews you write or receive after a completed trip.
Technical data:
- Minimal sign-in and security records needed to operate the service. We do not
use third-party advertising trackers.
## 2. Why we use it
- To verify that each family is a real parent at your corridor's school.
- To match trips within your circle and let families coordinate a ride or favor.
- To keep the community safe (for example, emergency and incident handling).
- To operate your membership and reach you about your corridor.
## 3. Who can see it
Within your circle, other verified families see a limited, dignified view of
your family: your family's display name, the primary adult's first name and last
initial, your circle, how long your family has been in the circle, the dates your
family has parked, and a count of favors your family has given. We do not show
your full street address, your phone number, your date of birth, or your
student's email to other members.
When you post a trip, the families who can see it (your circle, or the narrower
scope you choose) see its origin and destination areas and its timing, so they
can decide whether to ask for a ride. A trip counterparty sees the contact
details needed to coordinate only after a match is confirmed. Our team can see
more of your information when we help you with support or handle a safety matter.
Internal activity logs store hashed identifiers, never your name or email.
## 4. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the service, such as email
delivery and hosting. They process data on our behalf under their own terms and
only as needed to provide their service. The current pilot verifies families
through the student email step. If we later enable identity, enrollment, or
driving-record checks, we will use verification vendors for those checks and will
update this policy before they are used. We may disclose information if the law
requires it or to protect the safety of a member or the public.
## 5. How long we keep it
We keep your coordination records while your membership is active. During the
pilot, internal activity logs are retained for operations and safety review. We
are working toward a retention schedule of about 180 days for standard activity
and 365 days for safety-related records, after which they will be purged. Karma
and reviews tied to a completed trip may be kept in a de-identified form so the
community's favor history stays intact.
## 6. Your choices and rights
If you are a California resident, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and why,
- give you a copy of it,
- correct it,
- delete it, and
- close your family's account.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Some records
tied to a completed trip may be retained in de-identified form for community
integrity, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep. To make a request,
contact us (section 8). We will confirm your identity before acting on a
request.
## 7. Children
Parent Corridor is for adults. Parents create and run the account. Students are
adults (18 or older); the only student information we collect is the university
email used to verify the family.
## 8. Contact
To ask a question about this policy or to make a privacy request, write to
chandra@ParentCorridor.com or use the contact form at ParentCorridor.com/contact.
## 9. Changes to this policy
We will post any updates on this page. For a material change, we will ask you to
review and re-accept before your next trip.
